The Hucknall Tourism and Regeneration Group consists of an open ended number of people from all aspects of Hucknall's life, who have a desire to help regenerate the town, after the devastating loss of the mining industry and large portions of the textile industry, primarily through tourism. Regular members of the group include residents, business owners, volunteer workers and councillors. The group also receives support from Ashfield District Council
Their aims are to help Hucknall regain its position as a strong, viable market town, attract visitors to the town, to help increase its economy and to raise awareness of our heritage to both visitors and residents.
They work with other well established organisations such as the Chamber of Trade, Hucknall Heritage Society, St. Mary Magdalene Church, Ashfield District Council, Nottinghamshire County Council, the Library and Volunteer Organisations in order to ensure that the town is working together and to prevent duplication of work.
Through having a wide variety of people joining the group it is hoped that their aims will be achieved in a way that is sympathetic to the wishes of Hucknall's residents. Occasional surveys are undertaken to glean the views of the wider public.
