Much of Hucknall's heritage is to be found in its legacy of historic building and monuments. Heritage walks and bus tours are available during Spring & Summer but self guiding complimentary leaflets are available from the Tourist Information Point. Walks may also be organised by request (see Contacts Page) at any time of the year.
Above - Hucknall St. Mary Magdalene Church
This world famous church is the final resting place of the poet Lord Byron, his daughter Countess Ada Lovelace, renowned as the world's first computer programmer and Ben Caunt the English Champion Boxer. The church also contains the largest collection of stain glass windows by the Victorian artist C.E. Kemp as well as some rare wall paintings. There is also a sensory garden and a memorial garden to the poet.

Beardall Street School is the oldest 'Board School' in Nottinghamshire, opened in 1872, and possibly one of the oldest in the country. The school is still in use and sits oppostite the childhood home of Eric Coates.
The Flying Bedstead was the prototype of the jet powered verticle take-off aircraft; designed, built and tested by Rolls-Royce in Hucknall.
The Mill Lakes are the breathtaking remains of the water courses that provided power to the Robinson Cotton Mills along the River Leen. Open to the public as a country park.
Watnall Road Colliery Houses were constructed in 1874 by the colliery company for their employees. They are some of the finest Victorian terraces in the area.
Armenian dancers were just one of over 30 events that took place during the 2003 International Byron festival, primarily hosted each year by Hucknall.
The Red Lion public house is over 250 years old and was once the location where Byron's Steward would collect rents from his Hucknall tenants. Ben Caunt, during his childhood, worked as Candle Snuffer in this pub.
Mill Yard is a picturesque yard, whose cottages once housed the workers, and their families, of the neighbouring mill. Located in the town centre off of Baker street
The Half Moon pub, located in the town centre, is an ideal place to sit and soak up the atmosphere of this vibrant Market Town.
