Tourism in Hucknall - The Hucknall Tourism and Regeneration Group
Hucknall Market place
Hucknall Market Place, which hosts a Thursday Flea Market and a regular market every Friday, is a hub of activity throughout the week. To one side is the Grade II listed building that houses both the library and Visitor Information Point. Towering over the market is the world famous Hucknall parish church; the final resting place of Lord Byron, Ada Lovelace and Ben Caunt. Opposite the library is a larger than life size statue of Byron.

Within yards of the market place are many pubs and cafes. The whole atmosphere, especially on market days, is one of a vibrant Market Town.

A self guided Town Centre Heritage Walk is available with a leaflet from the library or church. If you wish to venture further a self guided Heritage Drive leaflet is also available that takes you a 20 mile circular drive around the district.

The International Byron Festival takes place between June and July each year. This festival provides activities for all the family; from activities for Byron enthusiasts to fun and games for children. The Hucknall Carnival takes place on the first Wednesday of December, when the Christmas Lights are turned on. Thousands of people flock to each of these events.

The Visitor Information point can provide you with much needed local information as well as many aspects of the town's history. Browse the other pages on this site to find out more about the town and the Hucknall Tourism and Regeneration Group.
